There is a role for each of us in ending working poverty.
The Government of BC has announced a Fair Wage Commission which will be travelling the province for the month of November to hear from individuals and businesses. They want to hear your thoughts on:
- Timelines for increasing the minimum wage to $15/hour and how minimum wage increases should be treated in the future
- What to do with the minimum wage rates for farm workers, liquor servers, live-in caregivers, resident caretakers, and live-in camp leaders, which are currently lower than the general minimum wage ($11.35).
Individuals: Send a message now to the fair wage commission. Share how a $15/hr minimum wage would change your community.
Employers: Are you an employer who wants to add your voice to the call for a $15/hour minimum wage? We want to connect you with other employers who share your values.
